Questions about plans and billing
Is pricing per technician?
No. One annual license covers your whole deployment — not per seat, per session or per minute connected. Each plan sets how many operators and enrolled devices that deployment supports.
Is there monthly billing?
Paid plans are billed annually. (The “about $21/mo” and “about $42/mo” figures are just the annual price divided by twelve.)
What happens when a license expires?
You get a 14-day grace period with a warning. After that, the deployment reverts to the free Starter plan — it never stops working entirely. Perpetual licenses don't expire.
Do I need internet access for licensing?
No. Licenses are signed and verified offline against a key built into the software, so a network outage isn't a lockout.
How do I activate a license?
Install Secure Desk first, copy the Device/Node ID from Settings → License, then exchange your activation code for a license key on the Rubix Hub and paste it back. No restart needed.
How do I upgrade?
Buy Team or Business on the Rubix Hub and activate the new key on the same deployment. Your new limits and features unlock immediately.
Can I get MSP or multi-deployment terms?
Yes — contact our sales team about MSP terms, multiple deployments or a security review.
Is every feature encrypted on the free plan?
Yes. Starter uses the same end-to-end encryption as the paid plans.
