- Windows endpoints only; browser console. No macOS/Linux Access as shipping; not “works on any OS.”
- Free means free Starter: 1 operator, 1 concurrent session, 3 enrolled Windows devices, self-hosted relay — not an unlimited free AnyDesk clone.
- Not a remote Explorer. Sign-in/lock yes; UAC/CAD no.
- E2E required (
requireE2e); 6-digit SAS; relay forwards ciphertext only. - Endpoints dial out — no inbound on machines you reach; the relay still needs 80/443.
- Quality presets top out at 15 / 12 / 8 fps, not 60.
- Access ≠ RDP/RDS; Control gate (attended defaults off).
- Web VDI = same pipe on your relay — not AVD, Citrix, or Omnissa.
- AI = reach agent desktops only; Desk does not run agents.

Who hosts the relay
AnyDesk is a cloud broker. The vendor hosts the meeting point. Secure Desk is a relay you run. You host the portal and the relay. Compare that to a vendor-hosted broker: the operator of that host sits inside the confidentiality boundary.
Web VDI on your relay, not a vendor farm
The console opens in a browser on a persistent Windows machine you already have. That is web VDI through a relay you run. It is not Citrix, Omnissa or Azure Virtual Desktop. Support is one use case on the same pipe.
Reaching AI-agent desktops
Many agents, each with its own Windows desktop, on one relay you run. Enrol once. Isolated sessions. Backstage opens a SYSTEM shell without inbound RDP. Secure Desk does not run the agents.
